The Finance Budget Manager plays a critical role in supporting the financial health and strategic decision-making of a $40-50 million nonprofit organization. This position is responsible for developing, monitoring, and analyzing budgets, forecasts, and financial reports to provide accurate, timely insights that guide leadership in achieving organizational goals. The Finance Budget Manager partners with program leaders and senior management to ensure strong financial stewardship, compliance, and accountability.

Position Duties & Responsibilities
Budgeting & Forecasting
· Lead the development, consolidation, and monitoring of the organization’s annual operating and program budgets.
· Prepare rolling forecasts and multi-year financial projections to support strategic planning.
· Partner with department and program leaders to provide financial guidance, ensuring budgets align with organizational priorities.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
· Produce accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including variance analysis and trend identification.
· Develop and maintain dashboards, key performance indicators (KPIs), and other financial tools for leadership and Board reporting.
· Provide actionable insights and recommendations to improve efficiency, optimize resource allocation, and strengthen financial performance.
Compliance & Controls
· Ensure financial reports comply with GAAP, organizational policies, and applicable nonprofit accounting standards.
· Assist with audits as needed.
· Maintain internal controls and support risk management processes related to financial operations.
Systems & Process Improvement
· Leverage advanced Excel and financial modeling tools to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency.
· Identify and implement process improvements in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
· Support financial systems integration and date integrity initiatives.
Position Requirements
Education & Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field required.
· Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting/analysis.
· Nonprofit or grant-funded program experience preferred.
Skills & Competencies
· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (complex formulas, pivot tables, financial modeling).
· Strong analytical skills the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
· Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial audiences.
· Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
