“We literally ran out of everything the day I visited. You saved our lives, especially that I was anemic, lack of nutrition for my twelve-year daughter. We really appreciate you. My life is getting back to normal as I can feed my daughter now. Please receive my heartfelt appreciation. I will always remember your goodness.”
– Merci, Jackson County Resident

Naming ACCESS as a beneficiary on your retirement account or life insurance policy is a simple and powerful way to support the important work of our organization without changing your will or living trust. Additionally, individuals who inherit retirement plan assets are usually required to pay income tax on them, so they’re often considered among the best assets to leave to charity.
Ask your retirement plan administrator or financial institution for a change of beneficiary form to name ACCESS as a charity beneficiary.

If you’re 70-1/2 or older, you can donate up to $100,000 per tax year directly from an Individual Retirement Account (IRA) to charities like ACCESS. Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCD), otherwise known as IRA charitable rollovers or IRA gifts, are a great way to support our lifesaving work by allowing your dollars to go further: QCDs may be excluded from your taxable income and qualify towards your required minimum distribution (RMD).
- Contact your IRA administrator and instruct that person to transfer funds to ACCESS.
- We would love to thank you for your gift. Please have your IRA administrator include your full name and mailing address on the gift. Also, have your administrator note that the transfer is an IRA Qualified Charitable Distribution.
If you’d like to make a QCD gift, your financial institution should make the check out to “ACCESS” and mail it to our mailing address:

When you include ACCESS as part of your estate plan, you ensure that community care and support is part of your legacy. Unrestricted bequest gifts give us the greatest flexibility to use funds where they are most needed.
There are options to leave ACCESS:
- a stated dollar amount
- a specific property or security including real estate, stock, and/or bonds, or
- a percentage of your residual estate (what remains after gifts to loved ones and expenses have been paid)
ACCESS has an Endowment Fund which is professionally managed by the Oregon Community Foundation. The endowment fund provides a steady income to help offset our general operating costs, fund new and innovative programs and help provide for a healthy financial future.
Your charitable gift to the endowment fund is invested by ACCESS. The principal remains intact, while the earnings/interest can be used to support our programs. You can direct your endowment fund gift to a specific program or make it unrestricted. You can also name your endowment gift ($5,000 or more) in honor or memory of a loved one.
